Betreff: DIS: Tom Waits "Pony" Datum: 14 Dec 2000 20:09:39 +0100 Von: "kdwade1" Firma: Centro Servizi Interbusiness Foren: rec.music.makers.guitar.tablature I had trouble with this, too. I got it finally by realizing that you can do the same notes and keep the feel without tuning your guitar out of standard tuning. The song is in C#, by the way, and with the first fret capoed that initial burst of dobro is sorta like this: E-------------------------------------------------- B-------------------------------------------------- G--------0---------------0---------------0-------- D-2---2----3-----2---2----3-----2----2---3------ A---3---------------3---------------3--------2-3- E-------------------------------------------------- I don't have the song playing right now, but that's how I do it when I'm just doing it to have an excuse to introduce friends to Waits. I don't think anyone ever expects a 17-year-old to sing about running his race with burnt-faced jake or being full of hollow on Maxwell Street :) BTW, that tab was mine, but here are the chords, attributed to http://www.multimania.com/tomwaitsbox/ which has a whole bunch of chords under "Partitions." Hope I've helped. nb: capo Fret 1 intro :C-F-C-F / C C F I've seen it all boys F C I've been all over C F Been everywhere in the F G Whole wide world G F I rode the high line F C With old blind Darby C F I danced real slow F G With Ida Jane F I was full of wonder C When I left Murfreesboro F Now I am full of hollow F G On Maxwell street...
