Ryan Adams Jacksonville Skyline From: Patrick Corbett (patrick.corbett@reuters.com) Thanks to Patrick!!! G C D Em C Thanks to the river that runs through my hometown There's a bow around the dirt roads and I scraped my knee Well they paved the roads eventually With neon signs . car dealerships and diners Soldiers fill the hotels on the weekends And so the pretty women as I walk through town Well I moved away as soon as I turned 16 Figured I was old enough to go and work a job Well I floated down main street - pools of car lights Overcame me wishing I was still back home Well Jacksonville's a city with hopeless streetlights Seems like you're lucky if it ever changes from red to green I was born with an abundance of inherited sadness And fifty cent picture frames bought at five and dimes I ended up a soldier on the weekend Looking for a vacancy I was unable to find Somewhere the night sky hangs like blanket Shoot it with my cap gun just to make it feel like stars
