Media Damage Records is excited to announce the release of the debut CD from Ann Arbor alt-country band CORNDADDY!

With 13 original songs that run the gamut from guitar pop to bluegrass to roots-rock, the bands' first effort shows its deep immersion in American musical styles from rock to traditional country. Merging classic roots music with the raw growl of the Rolling Stones and the polished craftsmanship of the Byrds, CORNDADDY defies categorization.

The record features the dual-threat song writing of lead guitarist/singer Kevin Brown and frontmanlguitarist Jud Branam, pedal steel and banjo from Alan Pagliere, occasional violin from part-time member Lorrie French, while bassist Jerry Hancock and drummer Will Stewart hold it all together.

Formed in Ann Arbor's fertile musical soil during the mid-nineties, CORNDADDY's members were drawn together by their shared love for this wide range of rootsy styles. The result is a synthesis, a hybrid that's equal parts country and rock 'n' roll; songs in which pedal steel guitar is every bit as at home as a distorted Telecaster and where country shuffles segue seamlessly into 12-bar raveups.

Critics have called the band "a solid song writing outfit," described the live show as "goofy and groovy" and said the musical style falls "somewhere between Bakersfield, Liverpool and Nashville."

Said Thayrone, host of WEM U-FM's Bone Conduction Music Show:
"Corndaddy's first CD goes well with a red or a white beer. You need one for the home and office. Turn it up."
