28. Lincoln Drive

A wrinkled sheet torn from a notebook
That was enough to change his life
She wrote ,,You never liked them big words
And I did always hate goodbyes"
Please mail my things to
28, Lincoln Drive

A late night november rain
Out of a pre-historic sky
A twilighted suburb street
Now and then a car rolls by
Seems like there's nothing wrong at
28, Lincoln Drive

A cat on the car-ports roof
A wind that cute through like a knife
A mailbox with a name on it
It's just a man who lost his wife
Looks like they're all asleep at
28, Lincoln Drive

He found a woman where he moved to
They bought a house they raised a child
Headlines' names replaced by others
Lifestory's truth replaced by lies

Looks like they're all asleep at 28, Lincoln Drive
Looks like they're all asleep at 28, Lincoln Drive
Looks like they're all asleep at 28, Lincoln Drive

In your nightmares

It seems that all You friends of mine are scared
Of things that I might do or say
Keep hurting everyone who cares these days
Sometimes I wonder why You stay

Is it me in Your dreams right now?
Or on Your minds?
Me in Your nightmares all the times?

Like all the rest still looking out for perfect love
Might Be there's only one girl left to find
Sometimes she makes me cry out loud at night
And sometimes she just makes me feel allright

Is it me in Your dreams right now?
Or on Your minds?
Me in Your nightmares all the times?

So many times I hurt the ones I love so much
So many times I didn't apologize
Sometimes I thing I'd better leave You all
And sometimes I thing I'd better die

Is it me in Your dreams right now?
Or on Your minds?
Me in Your nightmares all the times?

Is it me in Your dreams right now?
Or on Your minds?
Me n Your nightmares all the times?

Edwin Aldrin on the moon

One of the first things I remember is the moment they walked on the moon
With my parents and my brother in front of our black and white TV.
And all those years I could never imagine how they'd feel
with millions of people watching but being all alone

Imagine how Edwin Aldrin, Imagine how Edwin Aldrin,
Imagine how Edwin Aldrin felt on the moon

Ncw that the guardian angels who'd guide me have all gone
Now that the angel I've been with she took her love away from me
And with all my friends just watching not knowing what to say
In my vision they can see space ships that just touched down

Sometimes you long to come back but sometimes there's no-where to go
Sometimes you just ca~ remember where you started from
Times that you spent in heaven from the distance problems seemed small
Touchdown in 24 seconds -will I return?

At least & tried

I tried to live my live down for a while
I tried to live my own life and be free
I left You behind, wiped You out of my mind
Though I knew that I had to fail

As You always said, my good life turns bad
If I ever try to live without You

I lie on my bed, think of good times we had
Those times that made us feel fine
At You by my side, it gets tears in my eyes
To see I made a mistake

lt's, getting darker every day
It's getting colder anyway
I'm walking out there all alone

It'sgetting winterr
It's qetting winter
It's getting winter from now us

Last summers warmth is almost gonc
All birds have left exept for one
Too weak to leave where it was born

It's getting winter
It's getting winter
It's getting winter from now so

This mornings dew is icy yet
A cup of tea a cigarette
A bird is singing all alone

It's getting winter
It's gettiog winter
It's getting winter from now on

Got a band

Sitting with my cigarettes
You came flying through my head
Left some water in my eyes
And then the memory did die

Got a T,V, Got a car
A thousand books and few guitars
Got a family and a band
I've got a room I've got a tent

I've been high & I#ve been low
Been the ocean and the shore
Trying to be myself again
Tell my secrets to the wind

Got a TV

So I'm leaving here again
to spend dome time with some old friends
spend some time away from home
And think about where I belong

We might meet again next summer
But for now I do not care
I'd rather die than keep on trying
Cause you dream dreams I'll do not share

Got a TV

Burn your picture in my head

Burn your picture in my head
Forget about the things you said
And think of You and feel to pain
Might be we'll never meet again

I want to try real hard
I want to try real hard
To fall in love
To fall in love with someone else but You my love
Burn my love with someone else but You my love
Burn down my love, i'll burn my love
with someone else but You my love

I won't call & I won' write
I won't dream of You at night
I'll stll be here when You have gone
Forget about the things we've done

I won't suffer I won't cry
I won't lie awake at night
Won't count the days 'till You come back
I won't count the days 'till You come back

Diana

She went trough hard times
she was alone
She needed company
someone to share her feelings with
She never felt so had before
I don't think she do again

Today this guy dropped in
and gave her live a change
He took her away from home
she feels a lot better now
He ask her to stay
she feels a lot hatter now

She left her husband home
with two kids to feed
Well money never was the problem
it was her heart that bleeds

He took her away from home
she feels a lot better now
He ask her to stay
she feels a lot better now

Half her life was over
when she made that step
30 years old
and just a few good years to have

For your sister

You look so much like Your sister
You look so much like her
And I'm in love with Your sister
Won't You be my girl

No-one will care, no-one will know
where we are and where we go
What we do and what we like
Won't You come with me tonight

Last night stars saw me walking
looking out for You
They heard me cry 'cause I lost her
And saw me smile 'cause of You

I know that You got Your problems
I guess that You heard I got mine
Please don't ever tell me
That You don't love me - just try

Finally alone

She gives him everything she's got
She gives him all the things he needs
And burns herself to keep him warm
And leaves her friends to keep hime home

She plays the records that he likes
Though she will never understand
And reads his all time favourite books
And talks about them all nite long

She even rearanged her room
And put his pictures on the walls
And wears her hair like his last love
That died a thousand years ago

And sells her car to buy him things
And wears a foolish golden ring
He knows she's always by his side
All through the days, all through the nights

Tomorrow night he won't come home
Won't even call her on the phone
Will feel so good to be alone
Oh how he longed to be alone

8 Years

So his nightmare came true
And he just didn't know what to do
All she left was a picture on the wall
Holiday - somewhere - in '88

And futre's nothing but the past
& last week is still to come
He's living somewhat backwards now
& 8 years are a long long time

And now there's only one place left to go
Where he won't meet her that's for sure
Might be that's why he's still around
He keeps a gun under his bed

Might be this winter turns to fall
And all the things that grew turn small
Might be her memory fades away
But he just can't stop to pray

So if you meet him tell him lies
Make sure that he don't realize
Make sure he stays around
Cause 8 years are a long long time

Shots (written by Neil Young)

Melt my heart

Would You agree if i proposed
That you and me we shouldn't meet no more
Or would you cry, say would you dry
And try to make me change my mind
You won't melt my heart no more

Call me at night if You want to
Call me anytime you need someone to talk to
Start to cry, you can start to cry
But that won't make me chang my mind

You played with emotions you played with love
You played with devotion and you lost
You lost the game you lost the game
And now we'll never hold again

Sold

He bought her flowers and she gave him a kiss
And he took her with him from all those people she'd miss
He bought her a ring and she gave him her heart
He took her for granted from the very start

And on her 23rd birthday she took his name
and left all her life behind
Yeah on her 23rd birthday for the last time she smiled

He bought her a car and she gave him a son
She told him her dreams but he wouln't listen
He told her lies, that she seemed to believe
And he bought a house with seperate rooms to sleep in

And on her 43rd birthday she drove into town
and bought herself a gun
Next day's headlines wrote
"she fired it 4 times when he got home"

She brought him flowers and she bought him a stone
Sold the car and never picked up the phone
Nothing that she seemed to be missing
But tell me what matters after 8 years in prison

An on her 53rd birthday she walked into town
and bought herself a gun
Put on her wedding dress,
opened all windows
and fired once
She sold off her life ...

Winding through our lives

Back to the past I'm going back to the past I hope it will last
And you will be there too, you'll be there too I'm thinking 'bout me and you
Through changing times, with changing minds
Like a road that won't end like a road that won't end
A road that just bends but never ends my mind is bent on You

Through changing times with changing minds
Our love's winding through our lives

We travelled the world and we travelled the times
Sometimes I'd go and break your heart and sometime you'd break mine

Back in the past, it feels like back in the past
To hld You again as good as back in the past - again

Through changing times with changing minds
Our love#s winding through our lives

We travelled the world and we travelled the times
Sometimes I'd go and break your heart and sometimes you'd break mine

Changing minds again and again tearing down all walls and build them up again
We tried with our hearts and we tried with our minds
There's so much left to loose and so much left to find
Our minds and our hearts blown apart again.
