Jeanene faxed this letter to me this afternoon and asked me to post it
to the list. So here it is as it was sent to me with minor corrections
related to postage & handling. Marq

Hi Folks,
May 10, 1997, there will be a photo exhibit at Rice University
in tribute to Townes. I am looking for photos I don't have and trying
to match photos I have with who took them. Please send contact sheets
to the house ASAP. With tax time and all time is short and I would like
the exhibit as complete as possible. I know there is lots out there I don't
know about. Your help is much appreciated.

Also, within the next week or two I will have available for sale all of
Townes' CD's for $11.00, (plus $3.00 postage and handling per order). That
includes the following:

FIRST ALBUM formerly FOR THE SAKE OF THE SONG
OUR MOTHER THE MOUNTAIN
TOWNES VAN ZANDT
DELTA MOMMA BLUES
HIGH, LOW AND IN BETWEEN
THE LATE, GREAT TOWNES VAN ZANDT
FLYIN' SHOES
AT MY WINDOW
LIVE AND OBSCURE
THE NASHVILLE SESSIONS
REAR VIEW MIRROR
ROAD SONGS
NO DEEPER BLUE
THE HIGHWAY KIND

I'm working on getting LIVE AT THE OLD QUARTER -- will keep you posted.

I also have a memorial poster with Townes' favorite photo of himself
in black and white. It has Townes Van Zandt on the top and POET
and the years of his life on the bottom. townes always wanted to be
remembered as a poet. He would say "If I could just stop hearing that
stupid music I could be a poet. As we all know the melodies are fabulous
too but he thought they got in the way of his poetry. Tubes and postage
are $2.00 per order, and the posters are $5.00 each. I should be getting
a computer soon so I'll be joining you online. Can't wait to meet you all.

                                  Much Love,
